Beaches
This is a small collection of our favorite beaches on the island. We are quite sure there are much more, of which we are not even aware yet.
Emblisi
Our favourite beach located appr. 10-15 minutes away from the Villa by car in the direction of Fiskardo. There is no dangerous underwater streams at this beach and is very suitable for kids. The rocks to the left and the right are also perfect for little discovery tours to explore all the different animals like crabs.
Antisamos
Amazing beach surrounded by green "walls" located closed to Sami. The beach is organised and you will find some nice beach bars which also offer services like a massage directly at the beach. There is also an offer for some water activities and the yellow submarine starts for boat trips from here.
Myrtos
The most spectacular beach and the best known for Kefalonia. We recommend to go there to enjoy sunsets. During daytime it tends to get really hot down there.
Kimilia
Kimilia is a beach located closed to Emblisi. If you drive to Fiskardo, watch-out for the sign to Kimilia appr. 1 km before you reach Emblisi. There is no parking closed to Kimilia. You need to take into account appr. 20 minutes of walking/hiking and you need to take enough water with you, since there is no Kiosk or anything where you can buy stuff at the beach.
Xi - Lixouri
Xi is a sand beach and the special thing about it is the clay you can find at the beach. So you can give yourself a beauty treatment and put on a face mask or a a full body mask with the clay. And it is for free. Appr. 1 hour 15 minutes of driving from the Villa.
Ai Helis
Ai Helis is an organised sand beach in the south. The great thing about Ai helis is that you can walk quite far into the water without a need to swim, since it is not so steeply going down.
Fteri
You can only reach Fteri with your own boat or one of the water taxis. The beach is definitely worth the effort welcomig visitors with caribic colours. Bring enough water, food and an umbrella. There is hardly any shadow available.
Affalles - Ithaki
If you are going on an organised boat trip to Ithaki make sure there will be a stop at Afalles beach. Unbelievably clear water combined with a steep rocky wall right behind the beach turn it into a must see/experience. We can recommend a boat trip with Captain Christos and the Odysseas boat.
Watch out: Don´t stay on the beach, since there is a risk of rocks falling down. Stay in the water for your own safety!
