Artists
The whole family has a passion for "modern" art. In his private time Sven is also screenprinting posters and shirts. The first daughter Leonie is into drawings and graphics and has created the design of the character for Picnic in Magganos. Her younger sister Zoe has a passion for Photography and some of the imagery on this website has been created by her. All of the above is the reason for all the different artworks you can find in the Villa. Below you can find more details about all the different artists which are showcased in the Villa.
Eike König
Eike is an artist from Berlin who produces not answers, but rather discourse.
Homer vs. Homer fits perfectly to the location, since it is facing towards Ithaka, which is where Odysseus originates from. Homer´s second epos was exactly about his Odyssee. So there has been a good reason why the artwork has been selected.
Anthony Burrill
Graphic artist Anthony Burrill combines a knack for simplicity that packs a punch with analogue craft skills and powerful, positive messages. Words, gentle humour, no-nonsense communication and people are at the heart of Burrill’s practice and his distinctive brand of upbeat messaging: its core DNA is one created through a longstanding passion for creativity without limitations, the power of simplicity and an innate curiosity about the world and people in it.
The three poster at Villa Salz are letter printed statements which perfectly fit to the state of mind of someone who is doing vacation.
Daisy Emerson
Daisy Emerson is a British artist specialising in hand painted type and lettering. She primarily uses the method of traditional sign writing and gilding to produce beautiful handcrafted words, often on luxurious materials such as polished or honed marble stone, as well as brass and lacquered wood.
Daisy has a highly distinctive lettering style combined with her signature pastel colour palette, with pink being one of the most consistently used colours in her work. More often she will also lovingly hand finish most of her pieces with gold leaf.
